The cross bars once installed are slightly twisted and appear not able to be bought square with the sides.

Had to phone up tech guy as glass doors would not line up .instructions are not brilliant as it does not tell you DO NOT tighten metal work up as as you build it up .I followed instructions but tech guy told me you line glass doors up then tighten up .unfortunately unless I take the 65 inch tv off the stand and with it being a very expensive tv I have left the doors not lined up but that's my choice .

Questions people have asked owners of the AVF Burghley FS1250

  1. Stephen asked on
Thank you for volunteering to help others, I would very much like to know if I'm able to accommodate my A/V receiver in the bottom compartment which is just under 180 mm height, also on the upper shelf the fascia looks quite wide compared to the back of the stand, what I'm trying to establish, have I got that extra 2 or 3 cm if I was to enter my thick Center channel speaker going through the back and having it lined up at the front, it would be a great help to me if someone was to get out their tape measure and check by entering the speaker and a/v receiver through the back am I able to have an extra 1 or 2 cm. I may as well ask another question since I've got your attention, how good are the so-called beam through glass are you able to use the remote from 10 to 12 feet away or have you got to be up close for the remote to actually work through that so-called beam through glass.?. I do understand getting the tape measure out and messing around with the back of the TV stand will be a bit too much for some people, that's no problem, rest assured you're still a nice person for putting your email forward to help others.樂

      Hi Stephen,

I'll try and answer your questions the best I can.

      1) The height of the bottom compartment is 184mm excluding the magnetic catch. The main issue is the depth of the unit you are trying to acc ommodate. I have just recently installed (or shoe horned) a CD player and amp into this compartment and due to the curved shape of the unit I had to remove and discard the two cover panels at the rear and allow my HiFi equipment to protrude marginally.
      2) Yes the remote beam does work through the glass.
      3) The top shelf front gap is 150mm, the access from the rear is 180mm.

      Hope this helps

      Martin

I have a samsung 60 inch new tv... will it fit on the stand with no overlap?
    1. G replied on
The stand is 49 inches wide. I've got a 65 inch TV with wide placed legs which fit perfectly on the stand. The tv overlaps the stand a couple of inches each side.

  3. Matt asked on
Hi, I’m just wondering if a Sonos play bar would fit on the middle shelf?
    1. steve replied on
Yes it will. Please see photo. Playbar on top but you can see there is enough width on the middle shelf. Sound in that position may be as good though.

    2. Lynn replied on
      The gap is approx 6"x42"
I hope this is of some help
  4. Steve asked on
I have a 60" Samsung, I want a stand that fits nicely into the corner but the description says "anything over 50" will overhang the sides", so i guess it won't fit as I would want it too? Any advise would be appreciated tia.

    1. Eleanor replied on
Yes, you are correct in your thinking. But the other issue is that if the "legs" of the TV are on the ends of the TV, they won't sit successfully on the stand, because the stand narrows at the ends. This stand is made more for TVs which have the supporting leg in the centre. In which case, you can still fit your TV into the corner, but only as far as the overhanging TV will allow. But, having said that, it is an attractive and solid piece of furniture.
  5. Karen asked on
Hi I wondered if someone can help. I have been looking for a tv unit for a very long time! I am looking at the white gloss but not sure about the top of the unit being black. Is the black surface where the tv sits a high gloss finish? My new tv is silver surrounded so not sure if this will all match!

    Thanks in advance.
    1. Graham replied on
You can call it a mirror but gloss I am not so sure. We have white walls & it fits in well.

  6. Jas asked on
    HI
I am interested in buying the burghley 1250
I have panasonic sound bar which is 113 cm in Lenght. Will this fit inside the tv stand?
    Many thanks
    1. Graham replied on
It will be slight too small to fit. I have the Samsung HW-MS650 which is 106cm and I have just under 2cm clearance either side. Its a fantastic stand though.
  7. Karen asked on
Is it a corner unit, or is the back of this unit flat?
    1. Gareth replied on
It's a curved back but shallow so the unit does not need to be at 45 degrees.

    2. B replied on
It's a corner unit,a little time consuming to build but worth it,it looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture, very smart.
    3. David replied on
The back is curved and it can go in the corner but due to its size it won’t push up ‘tight’ to the corner.

      A photo is probably best.
