What is Power Delivery?

USB Power Delivery (PD) is a fast charging specification using USB Type-C and is incorporated into a wide variety of devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops and more. This means the same charger can be used to charge your laptop, your phone and other devices. The days of having to carry multiple chargers are over.

PD can charge compatible smartphones from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes, or up to 70% faster than with a standard 5W charger. PD is also smart, it detects how much power a device is able to receive, providing the optimal charge and no more, ensuring devices are safe from overheating.

PD requires a USB Type-C cable, or a USB Type-C to Lightning cable for Apple devices.

All Apple iPhones (8 and newer), plus Samsung Galaxy A8, S8 and Note 7
onwards, are PD compatible along with many Smartphones from other brands.
